This house was made when Amy Miles was a child at the end of the 19th century. It was lent to the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1915 for an exhibition in the Children's Room and was eventually given to the museum in 1921. Originally it had an artist's studio above the bathroom on the right side of the house. Unfortunately this was damaged during World War II (1939-1945). Almost all the contents are contemporary with the house and give us a sense of what it must have been like to live in a real house of the time. A house like this this would have belonged to a very well-to-do and up-to-date family who liked to enjoy themselves. In the room next to the kitchen is a bicycle and there is a billiard room on the first floor. There are several labour saving gadgets, including a knife cleaner, a telephone and carpet sweeper. In the bathroom is a geyser for heating up water for the bath. Surprisingly for such a large house, there is only one bedroom but there is a nursery and a schoolroom.

Questa casa fu costruita quando Amy Miles era una bambina, alla fine del 19° secolo. Fu prestata al Victoria & Albert Museum nel 1915 per la mostra “Children's Room” e alla fine fu donata al museo nel 1921. Originariamente esisteva uno studio d’artista al di sopra del bagno, sul lato destro della casa. Purtroppo questo è stato danneggiato durante la seconda guerra mondiale (1939-1945). Quasi tutti gli oggetti contenuti nella casa sono contemporanei ad essa e ci danno l’idea di ciò che doveva essere il modo di vivere in una vera casa del tempo. Una casa come questa sarebbe appartenuta ad una famiglia abbiente e moderna, alla quale piaceva divertirsi. Nella stanza accanto alla cucina, c’è una bicicletta e, al primo piano, vi è una sala da biliardo. Ci sono diversi arnesi da lavoro, tra cui un pulitore di coltello, un telefono e un battitappeto. Nel bagno c’è uno scaldabagno per l’acqua calda. Sorprendentemente, per una casa così grande, c'è solo una camera da letto, ma c'è una stanza dei bambini ed una stanza per lo studio.
