This charming museum has been located in Lyon since 1990
and in February 2005 was moved in one of the most prestigious buildings of the
Renaissance in Vieux Lyon the "Maison des Avocats."
The chance to move the museum
inside this jewel of the sixteenth century became reality when the miniaturist,
Dan Ohlmann from Lyon, founder of the museum, met the owner of the building,
himself a passionate collector of "miniature rooms" as well as of movies
originals.
The museum has two objectives: the first is to introduce to the public the
perfect work of art of the miniaturist artist Dan Ohlmann, the second is to
sensitize public awareness about some less known activities of the cinema like
special effects and the secrets of their makers.
We will focus on the first issue, namely the
miniature scenes.
The beautiful Dan Ohlmann permanent collection is moreover enriched by a large
number of
dioramas (over 120 dioramas and 1000 miniature) made by friends miniaturists
and designers from all over the world, among which you will be able to admire
the famous "La cuisine de Ronan"
of the artist Jim Sévellec.
A magic and poetic journey scaled 1:12 is offered to visitors, a tiny world so
detailed that your illusions will come true. |

Questo incantevole museo si trova a Lione dal 1990. Dal febbraio del
2005 risiede in uno degli edifici rinascimentali più prestigiosi del Vieux
Lyon: la “Maison des Avocats”.
L’ubicazione all’interno di questo meraviglioso gioiello del XVI secolo, si
concretizzò allorchè il miniaturista lionese Dan Ohlmann, fondatore del
museo, conobbe il proprietario dell'edificio, anch’egli appassionato
collezionista di “ambienti in miniatura” e oggetti originali del cinema.
Il museo si propone due obiettivi: il primo è quello di presentare al
pubblico le miniature iperrealistiche dell’artista miniaturista Dan Ohlmann.
Il secondo è quello di sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sui mestieri
nascosti del cinema, svelando ai visitatori i segreti degli effetti speciali
cinematografici e dei loro realizzatori.
Noi ci soffermeremo sul primo tema e cioè quello riguardante le miniature.
La collezione permanente, costituita dai lavori di Dan Ohlmann, è arricchita
da un gran numero di
diorami di amici miniaturisti e scenografi provenienti
da tutto il mondo, tra cui la famosa “La cuisine de Ronan” dell’artista Jim
Sévellec.
Presso il museo si possono ammirare, infatti, ben 120
diorami e più di 1000 oggetti in miniatura.
L’insieme di questi piccoli ambienti (in scala 1:12) offre ai visitatori un
viaggio pieno di poesia, attraverso vere e prorie "illusioni ottiche”
ottenute con elementi talmente dettagliati da renderli fortemente realistici
e intrisi di vibranti atmosfere.
